    Tylecodon leucothrix inflorescences

    Tylecodon leucothrix inflorescences
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Louis Jordaan

The Tylecodon leucothrix inflorescence grows on a long stalk, naked apart from the hairs. It is erect and red-brown, presenting the flowers far above the foliage. The scape emerges from the upper caudex next to the leaves.

The branched flower cluster at the top is arranged in a thyrse-shape, the individual pedicels fairly short.

Flowering happens late in spring until after midsummer (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://worldofsucculents.com).
