Tylecodon leucothrix white flowers

Tylecodon leucothrix white flowers
Author: Ivan Lätti
Photographer: Louis Jordaan

The flowers of Tylecodon leucothrix have cylindrical corolla tubes that spread five recurving, acutely pointed lobes when open. The corolla lobes are white inside, sometimes creamy or pinkish. The tube is greenish yellow inside as the outside of the corolla. In bud, both corolla and calyx are yellow-green, the corolla slightly lighter than the short, five-pointed sepals around the flower base.

Stamens and stigmas are present in the corolla mouth, indifferently exserted or not. There are ten stamens and five styles in each flower (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://worldofsucculents.com).
