    Drosanthemum giffenii flowers

    Drosanthemum giffenii flowers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Louis Jordaan

Drosanthemum giffenii flowers grow solitary on long, unbranched stalks or in clusters at stem-tips.

The narrow petals in picture appear unkempt, the long-lobed sepals below them leaf-like. The flowers are white, pink or pinkish purple in several shades. The stamens with pale yellow anthers are not bunched in a cone, the filaments petal-coloured.

Flowering happens late in spring after good rains (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
