    Streptocarpus cyaneus subsp. cyaneus leaves

    Streptocarpus cyaneus subsp. cyaneus leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

Several ground level Streptocarpus cyaneus subsp. cyaneus leaves grow short-stalked in a loose, uneven rosette.

The oblong leaves have scalloped margins and a quilted appearance from sunken midribs, lateral veins ascending to the margins and net-veining among bulging, slightly hairy to velvety blade patches. The leaves are about 20 cm long (Manning, 2009; Onderstall, 1984; Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; Letty, 1962; http://pza.sanbi.org).
