Quaqua parviflora subsp. parviflora in habitat

Quaqua parviflora subsp. parviflora in habitat
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The somewhat desolate habitat in which this Quaqua parviflora subsp. parviflora finds itself is mostly flats and slopes covered in sparse, hardy scrub. Quaqua and other succulents often succeed here near or in the shade and shelter provided by the bushes.

Goat farming causing overgrazing and trampling is often a problem in the northwest veld where these succulents grow (Williamson, 2010; White and Sloane, 1937).
