Seen from above the Pterygodium hallii flower is dominated by the purple-spotted lip positioned at the top of the flower after double resupination. The ovary is narrow at the back, flanked by the pair of bulging lateral sepals (Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
