    Hermannia amabilis flowers

    Hermannia amabilis flowers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The dainty, white to pale pink flower of Hermannia amabilis have greenish, cone-shaped to funnel-shaped, hairy calyces ending in five acutely tipped sepal lobes.

The five square-tipped, rectangular petal lobes spread widely from a longish, narrow tube, dark inside with a red-striped mouth.

The pollinators probably include bees as important contributors (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; https://powo.science.kew.org; https://commons.wikimedia.org; http://www.malvaceae.info).
