Ferraria divaricata

Ferraria divaricata
Author: Ivan Lätti

Ferraria divaricata is one of several ferrarias found in Namaqualand. The differently coloured flowers, even to some extent within each species, usually also have secondary colours in lines, spots or patches on the tepals of each flower.

The dark blue-purple tepal centres seen here may be much paler, even grey, the outer parts yellower, orange or brown (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; iNaturalist).
