Antimima paripetala leaves and old flower

Antimima paripetala leaves and old flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The chunky leaves of Antimima paripetala grow in decussate, about equal pairs, short and triangular in cross-section due to deep keels. The margins form hard, reddish triangles around the upper surfaces. These surfaces are pale grey-green and faintly mottled.

The keel flanks bulge wider near the tips than the upper triangles, thus visible from above. Small, rigid protrusions like mucros are present at the leaf-tips.

The old flower in picture has six sepals (Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
