Zygophyllum cordifolium leaf-pairs
Author: Ivan Lätti
Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The disc-shaped, sessile Zygophyllum cordifolium leaves, paired and spaced on trailing, woody stems are angled slightly forward. The leaf margins are faintly red in picture.

The younger leaves near the stem-tips are elliptic, the full rounding not yet achieved (Manning, 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
