    Hermannia succulent species

    Hermannia succulent species
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

This succulent Hermannia species is among the less seen members of its genus. Known from only a couple of sites by the sea near Cape Columbine and not “found in the books” it is provisionally called Hermannia orgasmiodorata by Dr David Gwynne-Evans on account of its unusual aroma. This is still a manuscript name to be confirmed or changed later.

The soft branches of the coastal perennial scramble over sand and stone in the open (David Gwynne-Evans personal communication).
