    Cleretum bellidiforme yet another colour

    Cleretum bellidiforme yet another colour
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Here is one more flower colour of Cleretum bellidiforme, seen at Tietiesbaai in September.

The bicolour flower feature is slightly present in short sections at the petal bases. First there is a short white part of about equal length on all the petals, then a colour change continues in vague dull red, disappearing unevenly into the main apricot dominant on the corolla.

The dark, central floral discs are shiny and blackish near the perimeter, maroon nearer the centre (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007, iNaturalist).
