Anginon difforme leaf bases

Anginon difforme leaf bases
Author: Ivan Lätti
Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

New leaf growth on old stems of Anginon difforme, the common needle-leaf, is creamy yellow on the older wood, forming the base for new, long and thin, green leaves.

Mature leaves are without grooves, simple and undivided (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist; http://worldfloraonline.org).
