Othonna ramulosa stem base

Othonna ramulosa stem base
Author: Ivan Lätti
Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The single, woody stem of Othonna ramulosa branches low down more than high up, the stems ascending and fairly straight. The primary, rod-like stems become leafless over time, as does the main stem, covered in rough greyish bark (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
