Hermannia cuneifolia as lush as its surroundings

Hermannia cuneifolia as lush as its surroundings
Author: Ivan Lätti

This sparse and erect Hermannia cuneifolia shrub was seen at Kagga Kamma. In this region the species is quite grey-leaved and hairy. The bigger stems are all leafless and smoothly grey-barked, the leaves on young branches having a limited chance of casting a shade worth mentioning.

Yellow flowers and their aged orange counterparts are scattered among the young growth near stem-tips (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
