    Floral stages of Felicia brevifolia in picture range from the bright blue and deep yellow on the flowerhead in its prime, to old bristly, brush-like fruits holding and putting finishing touches on seeds.

    Then comes the final stage of empty, spidery husks, the widespread involucres around bare receptacles. All of this gradually disappears in the wait through seasonal changes for new buds to arrive and repeat the whole performance yet again (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; Wikipedia).
