Euryops othonnoides life from the unlikely

New leaf growth on old Euryops othonnoides stems may be green instead of the common grey. It is, however, often the older leaves that lose their indumentums, the hairy coverings. Some of the greener growth in picture is thinner than the grey parts close-by and lack the branching into lobes, short and long.

A few of these plants occur with little or hardly any leaf lobing. On plants or plant parts where the leaves and their lobes tend to be thicker, the common central channelling on the upper surfaces is clearer.

Young stem growth is also green, not enriched by the multicoloured stem aging present upon the rough basal parts (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iNaturalist).
