Euryops othonnoides flowerhead

Euryops othonnoides flowerhead
Author: Ivan Lätti
Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The flowerhead of Euryops othonnoides has a gap in its ray floret ring, as well as some extra rays in other places. The rays are short and broad with strongly recurved tips, the surfaces uneven with two longitudinal vein lines sometimes visible near the sides.

The last disc florets still to open are the globose dots in the centre. A closer look is necessary to discern details of the open florets (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iNaturalist).
