Crassothonna cylindrica flowerhead profile

From the side the Crassothonna cylindrica flowerhead shows its spreading ray florets around the slightly protruding disc florets with exserted floral parts. The ray tips have tiny hook-like ends in picture, curving back.

One row of broad, bulging, oblong involucral bracts separate from each other slightly towards their pinkish tips.

The small pollinator may be at a loss where to start, be relishing its meal or simply admiring the florets (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
