The male florets of Cannomois parviflora grow densely clustered in rounded to elliptic spikelets, drooping in clusters from nodes near culm tips on branched peduncles.

The spathes drop off early. The cartilaginous bracts are small, shiny and dark brown, bigger than the florets that exsert their anthers when open (Dorrat-Haaksma and Linder, 2012; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
