Brunsvigia striata leaf close-up

Brunsvigia striata leaf close-up
Author: Ivan Lätti
Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Up close, the Brunsvigia striata or stripe candelabra leaf striations are longitudinally ridged, about equidistant upon the leathery blades. The channels between the green ridges are haphazardly discontinuous from gaps in the whitish covering that may be faintly velvety or a bloom.

Faint crisping and dull red colouring are visible along some parts of the cartilaginous margins (Duncan, et al, 2016; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
