Cineraria platycarpa flowerheads

The flowerheads of Cineraria platycarpa may be numerous, growing in loose, corymb-shaped panicles on long pedicels. The flowerhead is smaller than 1 cm in diameter.

A small cluster of tiny, yellow disc florets predominate in each capitulum or head, as the few, tentative ray floret blades may tend to be small, narrow and rare, sometimes absent from a flowerhead completely. The tubular disc florets are five-lobed and bisexual. The ray florets, also yellow, are female.
