    Searsia lucida leaflet veins

    The Searsia lucida leaflets are long and fairly narrow in this picture. The veins can be highlighted by sunlight as seen here. Lateral ones are duller when that doesn’t happen, or quite obscure in some leaflets.

    The branched inflorescences vary in density, the angularly four- or five-lobed florets spreading rigidly.

    The photo was taken near Barrydale during October (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Pooley, 1993; iNaturalist).
