Manochlamys albicans fruit and flowers

The Manochlamys albicans fruits are stalkless or very short-stalked, densely clustered up the erect axis.

Each fruit is covered by a pair of fleshy to succulent bracts that meet (or sometimes open) like lips over the globular structure. The bract surfaces are rough from tiny protrusions that might be short hairs. The bracts vary in colour from bright green to yellowish and then brown when ripe, late in summer.
