    Dimorphotheca sinuata bicoloured ray florets

    Some Dimorphotheca sinuata flowerheads have near white rays with faint, orange-brown tips. The ray bases also show a small beige-coloured section. The photo was taken in the Biedouw Valley during September.

    The disc is nearly black in parts where the florets are still closed, not showing their yellow pollen as in the outer ring of florets in picture (Manning, 2009; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997).
