Convolvulus capensis leaves

The variable leaves of Convolvulus capensis are alternate and stalked, well-spaced on the stem in picture.

The arrow-shaped leaf is often deeply and narrowly lobed at the base, sometimes elaborately with small, secondary lobes or lone teeth present symmetrically on the basal lobes. The long, narrow central lobe tapers, its margins scalloped, unevenly wavy and slightly rolled in.

The blades are dull grey-green to dark green, slightly hairy and folded in along the midrib that is sometimes purple (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
