The five to eight channelled Baeometra uniflora leaves are grown in opposite arrays, distichous, or somewhat spirally arranged. Some of the stem-clasping, pointed leaves spread, similar to those of their Colchicum relatives, while others may be more erect around the stem. There may be narrow bracts only below the lowermost, stalked flowers.
The buds in picture cohere erectly, mostly purple red with orange to the yellow at some pointed tepal tips and bases (Pooley, et al, 2025; Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
