Dasispermum suffruticosum or the sea parsley may bring its own palette of colours to beach sand, should the sand not make the effort itself.

The hairless, branched perennial may grow erect to 50 cm, or lie prostrate on dunes or sandy flats. The photo was taken on a dune at Cape Agulhas during January, the plant or plants well-branched and vigorous. Colouring ranges widely in the green and blue-green of leaves, and flower clusters that abound in the colours of maturing and fruiting (Bean and Johns, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; iNaturalist).
