The inflorescence of Disa porrecta is a dense, many-flowered spike bearing up to 15 flowers. The bracts are dry, no longer than the ovaries and sometimes shorter. The specific name, porrecta, is a Latin word meaning extending forward, referring to the unusual orientation of the flowers in the inflorescence. The long spurs extend upwards and backwards conspicuously behind the flower mouths.
Bloomtime is from before midsummer to autumn, mainly early autumn (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist).
