    The bush is thought to be Protea subvestita. The bird is probably Gurney’s sugarbird, known to feed on nectar from proteas, aloes and other flowers. Bird and bush share largely overlapping distribution ranges and are useful to each other. The photo was taken near the Sani Pass.

    It is unsure whether the bird was properly fed by this bush (Rebelo, 1998; Maclean, 1993; iNaturalist).
