The Pterygodium magnum inflorescence is bristling with pointed green bracts. They ascend in the upper part of the spike, descending lower down.
Also of interest is the wide spacing of the stem-sheathing or -clasping, alternate leaves appearing opposite in picture until closer scrutiny. The outcurving leaf margins and bulging midribs on the outside are present on the big lower leaves as well as the smaller ones, higher up. Most orchids have alternate leaves, and so does this species. There is a white ring at each visible node, expected to be visible only when there is so much stem elongation. The leaves encircle the stem for some distance above the rings (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; JSTOR; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
