    Agapanthus africanus stressed leaves

Agapanthus africanus bears strap-shaped leaves that are roundly keeled below, about 35 cm long and 1,5 cm wide. The leaves in picture are fairly straight and here yellow-green to yellow.

The funnel-shaped perianths are deep blue, mostly facing outwards in the compact umbels on fairly short, dark-coloured stalks. Each umbel is held high above the leaves by a sturdy, smooth scape.

The photo was taken on Table Mountain in March, near the end of the hot, dry season (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
