The sweetpea-like flowers of Lessertia perennans grow in a loose raceme of 15 to 50 flowers. The raceme is 7,5 cm to 15 cm long, often nearly straight but here curved. It emerges from a leaf axil, the peduncle longer than the leaves.

Flowering happens from end spring to after midsummer, sometimes to early autumn. The specific name, perennans, indicates that the plant grows, albeit not flowers, throughout the year (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; Trauseld, 1969; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
