The yellow flower of Lithops olivacea emerges solitary from the gap between the paired leaves.

There is often some white in the flower centre, both on the petal bases and on the filaments of the cluster of yellow-anthered stamens. The petals are widest nearer their rounded, or sometimes notched tips. In picture there are more petals than would complete one full whorl, not nearly enough for two. Flower diameter is up to 4,5 cm, often smaller. No staminodes are present in the flower, and no bracts below it either.

Brown sepal tips are visible around the yellow beginnings of the bud in picture.

Bloomtime is probably autumn to early winter (Frandsen, 2017; Van Jaarsveld, et al, 2006; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist; https://llifle.com; https://pza.sanbi.org).
