The erect, red-stemmed branches of the Erepsia inclaudens plant are succeeding over their sandstone crevice, flowering proceeding normally in November. The red-tipped leaves would have looked about the same on a plant growing in ample soil.
On the one hand the chances of surviving a fire are enhanced by the good fortune of operating from such a rocky perch, although on the other some food shortages and exposure may have to be endured from living here. These rocks are in the Kogelberg (Manning, 2007; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
